On 24 March 2007, Mr Peter Breen, Member of the Legislative Council of NSW, is up for re-election. As many of you know, Mr Breen and the Human Rights Party have been strong supporters of the rights of the Macedonian community of NSW and Australia, as well as the rights of Macedonians living under Greek, Bulgarian and Albanian rule.
Mr Breen's Human Rights Party was formed to promote equal protection of the civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights of all Australians. Of particular concern to the Party are the rights of individuals and minority groups who have been neglected by the major parties. The Human Rights Party is working to affirm and promote internationally recognised human rights, which are currently not guaranteed under Australian law.
In August 2006, Mr Breen visited the Republic of Macedonia and Macedonian communities in Greece, Albania and Bulgaria to see first hand the discrimination faced by members of the Macedonian minority by their respective governments. During his trip, Mr Breen discovered the policies and practices of those states that suppress the Macedonian identity, and subject Macedonian communities to forced assi"
