Just to note in passing that this non-binding resolution does not include a mention of a Greek veto for Macedonian membership to Nato. One small step for Macedonia, one giant step for Nato!
"US Congress backs Macedonia's NATO bid"

The U.S. House of Representatives approved a Resolution hailing further enlargement of the NATO.
The goal of this Resolution is to reaffirm U.S. support for continued enlargement of NATO to democracies that are able and willing to meet the responsibilities of membership. Specifically, the legislation calls for the timely admission of Albania, Croatia, Georgia, and Macedonia to NATO and authorizes security assistance for these countries in Fiscal Year 2007.
The NATO Freedom Consolidation Act of 2007 aims to endorse further enlargement of NATO and to facilitate the timely admission of new members to NATO.
Democrat Congressman John Tanner tabled the Resolution, saying he believes the mentioned above countries will move in the right direction toward NATO membership.
Addressing the 43rd Munich Conference on Security Policy earlier this month, Russian President Vladimir Putin said NATO's eastward expansion is affecting Russia's relationship with the North Atlantic alliance and has nothing to do with modernizing the military bloc. /end/"
